ABOUT BEAMRUNNER

BeamRunner is a free Tron light cycle game you can play instantly in your browser — no download, no install, no sign-up. Inspired by the classic light cycle battles from the 1982 Tron arcade cabinet, you pilot a neon light cycle across a glowing grid arena, leaving a solid energy trail behind you. Your mission is simple: survive longer than your rivals and force them to crash into your wall of light.

HOW TO PLAY

• Arrow keys / WASD — turn your light cycle up, down, left or right.
• Space — hit the boost to surge ahead and cut off your opponents.
• Enter — start the game or jump back in after a wipeout.
• P / Escape — pause the action at any time.
• On touch screens, use the on-screen direction pad and BOOST button.

You can never reverse into your own trail, but a single collision with any wall, any rival trail, or the edge of the grid ends your run. Each wave throws more opponent cycles into the arena, so plan your turns, trap your foes, and keep boosting to stay ahead.

TIPS & STRATEGY

• Box opponents in by circling them, then close the trap.
• Hug the walls early to open up space in the middle of the grid.
• Save your boost for escapes — it is limited, so spend it wisely.
• Watch rival trails: a tight cluster of turns often means an opponent is cornered.
